Why I Think WPEngine Is The Best Hosting Company
This website has been hosted with WPEngine since its inception, and I’m really happy to say that I’m so glad I decided to give them a go. Little things that they do make me realise that they are definitely the best hosting company for my business.
Little things – like the emails that let you know in advance that they’re going to update my site automatically to the latest version of WordPress. This is one of those emails so that you can see what I’m talking about:

As your managed WordPress host we will be updating install(s) on your account to WordPress 4.2.2 in seven (7) days. The following site(s) will be updated: toxinfre ((http://www.ruwinning.com)). This will occur at 8 p.m. Central seven days from the date you received this email. We recommend you test your site with WordPress 4.2.2 by pushing to staging and upgrading your staging site to WordPress 4.2.2. Our priority is to ensure you see minimal impact on your site in case there is a compatibility issue with the update. Because of this, we’ve created an Automatic WordPress Update Process that intelligently determines how the update affected your site and whether the site should be reverted to the previous version. We’ll send you one more notice four (4) hours prior to the update to 4.2.2. If you have already updated your site or have requested a deferral for WordPress 4.2.2, you can ignore this notice.
If you need to request a deferral please log into the WP Engine user portal, my.wpengine.com, and visit the relevant install ‘Overview’ page and check the deferral checkbox in the ‘WordPress Version’ section. You can find more information about deferrals here: wpengine.com/support/

The ‘little things’ add up to greatness
There was also a message, and a link to a post about the Gravity Forms plugin in the dashboard of my WPEngine account when I logged in this morning, and even though I don’t use that plugin on my site, it’s a good feeling to know that they’re on to it and they’ve got my back.
I know from experience that other hosting companies just don’t do that. Instead they’ll let you use the insecure plugin and let the hackers in….
This was the ‘thing’ that inspired this blog post.
You see it’s those little things that make all the difference.
In a world where it seems that so many businesses struggle to even provide a good basic service that will keep their customers happy, when a business or service provider goes the extra mile to provide great service to their customers, they stand out like a shining star on a dark night.
WPEngine stands out.
And I personally believe that when I come across great service, I should shout out that good news to let others know, as well as help support great businesses to do what they do so well.
And so here I am…
P.S. Even though WPEngine is a little more expensive than some of the larger hosting companies, they’re WordPress specialists and that makes a difference. I think I’ll be here for the long haul because I feel that I can trust them to have my best interests and the interests of my business in mind.
